Climate
The temperature in the State of Amazonas varies from 26°C to 30°C, (78.8°F to 86°F), but the high humidity makes the thermal sensation seem much higher. The rainy season, considered winter time, is from December to June, and the summertime is from July to November. The flood from Rio Negro has its maximum level in middle June, whereas the greatest low water occurs in September.
Care with health
It is always advisable the wearing of a sunblock and insect repellent. Yellow fever and tetanus vaccines are indicated for all those who travel in Brazil. They are valid for 10 years and must be taken maximum ten days prior to the trip. In case you make continuous use of medicaments, bring them with you, since you may not find them in local pharmacies. As a precaution, an antiallergenic is recommended for those allergic to insect bites.

The currency unit in Brazil is the real (R$).

Brazilian Portuguese.
What to wear
Light and comfortable clothes, like Bermudas and t-shirts, summer slacks, tennis-shoes or walking shoes, sandals, bathing suits, sunglasses, a light raincoat and hat or cap. Remember that the sun in Amazonia is intense due to its location on the line of Equator. It is always advisable to be protected.
Fresh water
It is advisable to consume mineral water, or filtered water, waters which are not from taps, since they are not adequately treated to be consumed.
Electric Energy
Sockets in the region are 120 Volts (102), but in case you are not sure it is always prudent to ask the voltage used in the location to avoid burning a device.
